1st Granite, 201, Early Spring Recorded by Renp Zagododdom, Bookkeeper of the prospective Outpost Adilrubal. After a long and largely uneventful trek from the Mountainhomes, our party sighted and claimed volcano reported previously by the trade network. Striking the earth, we hoped to forge a new metal industry and delve a new mountainhall to rival all others. If all goes well, however, a suitable system for elevation of fresh brook water should be operational before the leaves turn. Manual preparation of a well may be wise at this point. -=- 17th Hematite, 201, Early Summer Recorded by Renp Zagododdom, Bookkeeper The haunting cries of the fire imps have marauded our camp since its inception, but recently one emerged from the firey depths of the volcano to stare intently at our doings. The construction of a perimeter wall is now underway. -=- 9th Malachite, 201, Mid-Summer Recorded by Renp Zagododdom, Bookkeeper The vertical pump stack proved to be too ambitious an undertaking for the time being, so I've ordered the construction of a well to bide some time. A small subterranean farm adjacent to the first level of the well should supplement our fish production when sufficiently moistened. -=- 27th Galena, 201, Late Summer Recorded by Renp Zagododdom, Bookkeeper Well shaft is slowly being filled, and a chain has not yet been forged, but the pieces are all in place for the construction of a well. The farm has not yet been irrigated by bucket, but this shouldn't pose too much of a set- back. A fireman has been spotted by the mouth of the volcano, so plans are in motion for the construction of cage traps in the front entry. A trade depot has been constructed just inside the entrance just in case fort status cannot be fully stabilized until i am temporarily relieved of command by Mili the miner. Boulders external to the fort may need smoothing to allow access to trade wagons. -=- 1st Limestone, 201, Early Autumn Recorded by Renp Zagododdom, Bookkeeper My current term comes to an end, and i am succeeded by Mili until next spring. As long as the fishery continues processing fish and the well is built, the winter should be survivable. FORT STATUS: water: incomplete fish: yes farm: incomplete defense: light forward walling, 2 crossbows and limited bolts industry: gem, stone, wood, bone, light metal; potential heavy metal, glass office: none rooms: foreward antechamber 2, kitchen, stair hall, dining hall, side hall 2 RECOMMENDATIONS: *Build cage traps around front entrance *Build well over shaft in well hole as soon as possible *Moisten temporary farm--seek guidance if necessary
